Project Manager – Rare Conditions (MRC Nodes, BRC and MRCC)

About the Opportunity

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Rare Conditions Research Project Manager within the Division of Evolution, Infection and Genomics at The University of Manchester. The post involves managing research projects related to rare conditions, funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) Rare Disease Platform Nodes, the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and the Manchester Rare Conditions Centre (MRCC).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth management of research projects related to rare conditions
  • Produce deliverables and milestones on time and within budget
  • Work effectively across complex research organizations
  • Ensure timelines for projects are met and instigate change as required
  • Advise on funding strategy using specialized knowledge
  • Identify and breakdown tasks for multidisciplinary research projects
  • Delegate and assign tasks to team members

About You

The University of Manchester is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager with excellent interpersonal, communication, IT, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate should have experience in research, preferably in physical or medical sciences.

Eligibility

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 24 months, funded by the MRC/NIHR/MRCC. The post is based on campus at the University of Manchester and requires regular in-person attendance.
