As an SCS Engineer, he successfully implemented multiple upgrades to control systems in high-voltage substations across Ireland as part of ESB’s forward-looking “brighter future” strategy. After an impressive eight-month tenure, Sinclair was assigned to the ESB’s international division in Bahrain. In this role, he spearheaded a comprehensive upgrade of the control centre, encompassing a state-of-the-art SCADA system, Curved Video Wallboard, and Energy Management System. This upgrade enabled seamless electrical equipment control and monitoring for the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter.
In 2018, Sinclair joined the ESB’s projects delivery organisation as a Project Engineer. In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing major and minor capital works, operations, and maintenance in the counties of Cork and Kerry. Utilising both traditional and agile project management methodologies, Sinclair successfully delivered multiple projects concurrently, effectively adapting to the ever-evolving nature of the environment.
