PMI offers various certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification. Aspiring candidates must meet PMI’s rigorous criteria in terms of education and experience. The first step in the application process involves completing an online (or paper-based) application by PMI.
Once your online application has been evaluated and determined successful, PMI will send you a notification requesting payment of the certification fee.
To pay, choose your preferred examination delivery method and indicate any specific accommodations needed through the online certification system.
After payment, you will receive exam scheduling instructions from PMI. You have one year to sit and pass the exam from the date PMI confirms your application has been approved. The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions; You have four hours to complete them.
To maintain the PMP® credential, a professional must commit to ongoing education and professional development. Every three years, they must earn at least sixty (60) Professional Development Units (PDUs).
