About the Opportunity
Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) was established in 2011 to contribute to the advancement of global science and technology and to become a hub for innovation in Okinawa. OIST offers a 5-year doctoral program and conducts cutting-edge scientific research with outstanding researchers from around the world and across disciplines. The campus, located on an 85-hectare site amidst nature with beautiful coastal views, is architecturally designed to blend with the natural surroundings, fostering an environment for interdisciplinary research.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring progress of research and development projects within the center
- Efficient operation of the center
- Coordination with researchers within the center and communication with relevant stakeholders
- Budget management for the COI-NEXT project
- Planning, organizing, and overseeing internal and external meetings
- Supporting public relations activities related to COI-NEXT
- Organizing and maintaining various records, files, data, and reports
- Collaborating across departments with faculty and OIST Innovation
About You
Eligibility:
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Experience in document organization and management
- Excellent communication skills in English (TOEIC score of 900 or above)
- Strong time management, multitasking, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Clear and concise writing abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of administrative experience in an international environment
- Communication skills in Japanese
- Experience working in an academic environment
- Practical knowledge of government administrative procedures
