Graduate of the Year Awards 2022

Background to Awards

Since 2003, IPM has been running its annual graduate awards programme. Many of our successful award winners have progressed to be influential and highly respected leaders of the discipline here in Ireland. 

The objectives of the IPM’s Project Management Graduate of the Year Awards are to:

  • Recognise and honour the high achievers in the qualifying programme.
  • Increase awareness of the high quality and standards of IPMA® qualification and certification among the business community and the general public.
  • Increase the awareness of, and status of, project management as an important business discipline.
  • Advocate the importance of project management as a core competency for national competitiveness. 

Working with and learning from the highly motivated students that we have encountered over the years has been a very gratifying experience. As they have climbed the corporate ladder, their influence on the application and development of the discipline contributes to its future health.

Strategic Project Programme Management Diploma

Kevin Scott

Biographical Note 

Kevin is an accomplished Project and Program Management expert with over 25 years of experience. working in various sectors, including Oil, Civil, Construction, and Telecommunications.

Currently, he leads the Project delivery function at Enet, which is Ireland's largest independent wholesale telecoms provider.

At Enet, Kevin established a new Project Management Office, which implemented 3PM governance across the organization and driving growth for the company. He leads Enet's growth program with projects such as the delivery of new high speed fibre networks.

Tell us a bit about your experience before partaking the Certified Diploma in Strategic Project Program Management course?

Following the collapse of the Irish construction industry in the 2000’s, I returned to full time education and graduated with a post graduate Diploma of Science in Computing while also completing in parallel the IPMI Certified Diploma in Project Management. This gave me both the technical and project management accreditation to enter the Technology sector.

What influenced your decision to do the Strategic Project Programme Management Diploma?

I felt that to further enhance the PMO's maturity it would be necessary to obtain the Strategic Project Program Management Diploma. This realization motivated me to pursue the course which has provided me with the necessary understanding, skills and knowledge to take our PMO to the next level.

Since completing the course what impact, if any, has the course had on you in the workplace?

The Certified Diploma in Strategic Project Program Management has provided me with the necessary understanding and tools and tools to improve our PMO processes, which has had a significant impact on our project management practices in the workplace.

Additionally, I have been actively involved in providing support to the organization's C-level executives regarding the feasibility of new strategic projects as part of Enets growth program.

Certified Project Management Diploma

Stephanie Sweeney

Biographical Note 

Stephanie is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and graduated with a first-class honour’s master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University College Cork, Ireland. 

She is currently working as a Senior Finance Manager at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. 

She has 10 years’ experience in Finance, FP&A, Inventory, Costing and Supply Chain working across the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Banking and Electronic sectors. 

What influenced your decision to do the Certified Diploma in Project Management? 

The main driving force behind completing the Certified Diploma in Project Management was to pursue a Project and Process Development Role. Since completing the Project Management Diploma, I have started a new role in a process & technology focused project responsible for Product Costing & Inventory.  

Since completing the course what impact, if any, has the course had on you in the workplace? 

The course provided very good practical tools and insights on how to plan and execute a project which I use every day.
