Company 

Well established Australian owned energy business with an ambitious mandate to develop and build renewable energy & firming assets leading towards our 2030 targets.
The company is well capitalised, has assembled a high performing senior leadership group and has an impressive portfolio of projects, including advanced wind farm & utility BESS developments.
Position responsibilities & objectives

Within their portfolio the company has a flagship wind farm (one of the largest in Australia) that has a short term horizon on reaching financial close.  
They are looking to appoint an experienced and highly credentialed project leader in the role of Project Director to lead the project through early works, head contracts award and through construction, commissioning to COD.

Key objectives

* Form effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders (EPC & OEM, state government, community, regulatory, equity partners) before construction and ongoing
* Gain a detailed understanding of key project contracts, highlighting in detail the key risks and critical path
* Build a high performing team that are capable of delivering large and complex energy infrastructure projects and create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
* Working across internal & external project stakeholders to drive best practice in HSE systems and environmental compliance

Critical success factors

* Experience delivering large wind farm projects in Australia or APAC with an intimate understanding of key packages, different contract arrangements (EPC vs split scope) and how to set up and deliver profitable projects
* Broad cross functional skills across commercial, technical, financial (P&L) and excellent project management principles and foundational knowledge 
* Very effective communicator (verbal & written) and able to effectively report and present to Steering Committee & executive management
* Experience with contributing positively to procurement stages and contract negotiations 
* Ability to build collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders, keeping them informed and detailing how you are managing project risks, schedule and finances
