Responsibilities

• Develop and implement appropriate processes to ensure adequate sponsor oversight for all Trust sponsored studies.
• Provide assurance to Trust Management on compliance with research governance and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct monitoring across the Trust and at other NHS organizations as needed.
• Review study protocols and ensure compliance with regulations and GCP.
• Create and oversee Corrective and Preventative Action Plans.
• Deliver specialist training to research staff on research governance and procedures.
• Contribute to the development of local SOPs.
• Prepare the Trust for regulatory inspections.

About You

This post requires a dynamic, out-going person with good IT skills. You should have knowledge of study set-up and delivery processes and be familiar with the work of the Sponsorship team.

Eligibility

Essential criteria:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Experience in medical research methodology and clinical trial regulations.
• Evidence of ongoing Good Clinical Practice Training.
• Thorough understanding of systems supporting clinical care in a research environment.

Desirable criteria:

• Experience in a large teaching hospital or University.
• Commercial research experience.
• Previous experience using IRAS for R&D applications.
