Project Director – Data Centres
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia (12+ month assignment)
This opportunity is open to UK nationals who are willing to relocate to Jakarta, Indonesia for a minimum period of 12 months. Full relocation support will be provided.
The Project Director is responsible for the successful leadership and delivery of complex, high-value data centre projects from pre-construction through commissioning, handover, and project close-out. Reporting to senior leadership, the Project Director provides strategic direction across multiple project teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires an experienced leader with a strong Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) background and a proven track record of delivering mission-critical data centre projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams, engaging with clients and consultants, and overseeing all commercial, operational and technical aspects of large-scale projects across Europe and other international locations.
Significant experience delivering large-scale data centre or other mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Strong Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) background gained within engineering, construction or building services.
Proven experience operating at Project Director, Senior Project Manager or Programme Director level.
Demonstrable experience managing complex projects from pre-construction through commissioning and final handover.
Strong understanding of commissioning processes, integrated systems testing and operational readiness within data centre environments.
Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, project controls and programme management.
Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, forecasting and contractual risk.
Strong understanding of NEC, FIDIC and other standard forms of construction contract.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple project locations.
Excellent client-facing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to make strategic decisions in fast-paced, high-value project environments.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Professional membership with a recognised engineering or construction institution is desirable.
Relevant health and safety qualifications are advantageous.
