About the Opportunity

Job Title: Project Director

Location: Chelmsford

Join us!! We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced professional to lead our project delivery function. Our team delivers a wide range of lump-sum EPC projects in electrical transmission and distribution projects within the utilities and renewable energy sectors across UK. Reporting to the UK Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of project management professionals to deliver a portfolio of projects from the proposal phase through project execution and closing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate visible safety, environmental, and sustainability leadership
• Compliance with all customer safety management requirements, company systems, applicable laws, and regulations
• Manage PMO office in EPC business
• Lead project management teams from proposal to completion
• Be primary contact for customers regarding project delivery
• Ownership of profit and loss of projects
• Support project managers in meeting project objectives
• Perform regular visits to project construction sites
• Develop project execution plans
• Oversee implementation and resource planning
• Coach and mentor project management staff
• Drive continuous improvement of project management systems

Qualifications & Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited institution. Extensive years of experience in delivering lump-sum EPC projects as Tier 1 contractor. Preferred candidates will be familiar with the UK's electricity transmission and distribution sector. Good years of experience as project director and portfolio director, as well as previous experience in managing project management /PMO discipline for Tier 1 contractors. Must have strong commercial awareness and understanding of the internationally recognized project management standards. Must have strong risk awareness and risk management skills.
