Infrastructure Services – Capital Delivery

Permanent Full Time

Hervey Bay

Salary Options:

  • IFA 6 - $114,543 per annum (inclusive of leave loading) + superannuation + $6,000 Relocation allowance (for suitable candidates) + 5 days additional recreational leave + 10-day fortnight
  • Stream A 6.1 - $100,017 per annum + leave loading + superannuation + $6,000 Relocation allowance (for suitable candidates) + 9-day fortnight

What We Are Looking For

Are you highly organised, detail-focused and have the ability to multitask with a high level of accuracy in a Civil Construction and Infrastructure environment?

An opportunity exists to join our Contracts team to provide coordination and support across a range of contracts, project activities and works programs.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Preparation of tender and contract documentation for allocated projects in the Capital Works Program.
  • Contribute to the development of contract management practices and procedures for service delivery.
  • Assist in the development of long and short-term plans, policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback and project data on completed works, ensuring “as constructed” data is provided to the project owner.
  • Identify and resolve implementation problems with designs prior to contracting of works.
  • Develop 5 year sealed road resurfacing programs based on asset management data and operational requirements.
  • Provide information on project performance in a suitable format for distribution to staff, Councillors and external customers.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations to Council.

What You’ll Need For Success

  • Formal qualifications in relevant field (minimum AQF Level 5) and/or significant experience, expertise and competence in a similar position.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment for the delivery of contract managed capital works projects.
  • Experience in design, construction and asset management.
  • Demonstrated high level of experience in preparing tender documentation, including technical specifications, general conditions of contract and drawings.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to relate at the appropriate level to staff, contractors and community representatives.
  • Experience and a high understanding of project management (from a legal, civil, probity and operational perspective).
  • High level of experience in managing contracts using relevant Australian Standards General Conditions of Contract.
  • Relevant Driver's Licence and White Card.
