About the Opportunity

Position: Junior Data Engineer
Location: Singapore
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development
    • Assist in building, testing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
    • Work with senior engineers to process structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
    • Ensure data integrity and reliability throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Data Infrastructure & Storage
    • Support the development and optimization of data warehouses, data lakes, and databases.
    • Perform data modelling tasks (schemas, tables, views) under guidance.
    • Maintain data documentation and metadata.
  • Data Quality & Monitoring
    • Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Identify data issues, debug pipeline failures, and assist with troubleshooting.
    • Support monitoring of pipeline performance and system health.
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Collaborate with data analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
    • Provide assistance in generating datasets for analytics and reporting.
    • Participate in code reviews and learn best practices in data engineering.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Contribute to automation, efficiency improvement, and optimization of data workflows.
    • Stay updated with modern data engineering tools, cloud platforms, and best practices.

About You

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or data-related roles.
  • Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
  • Basic understanding of ETL pipelines, data warehousing concepts, and database design.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Airflow, Spark, Kafka, or dbt is an advantage (not mandatory).
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
