ICT Portfolio Manager Federal Government 12-month contract + 12-month extension options Locations: ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC or WA Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain an NV1 security clearance (Baseline Clearance minimum on commencement) Our Federal Client is seeking an experienced EL2 ICT Portfolio Manager to lead the strategic management of ICT projects and initiatives within its Technology Services Division. Combining elements of portfolio and program management with business partnering - this senior role will oversee multiple projects aligned to common strategic themes. You will ensure technology investment supports business objectives, resources are effectively prioritised, and executives have clear visibility of portfolio performance - providing technical oversight of projects within the portfolio. The RoleDeveloping and maintaining the ICT project portfolio in alignment with agency strategy and prioritiesPrioritising initiatives and optimising resources across projectsLeading cross-functional teams in the delivery of complex ICT programs and projectsDefining and monitoring program goals, scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverablesManaging portfolio risks, issues, and cross-project dependenciesEstablishing effective governance structures and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and processesBuilding strong relationships with business units, vendors, partners, and other stakeholdersActing as a bridge between ICT and the business to ensure projects meet organisational needsMonitoring portfolio performance, status, and key performance indicatorsRepresenting and championing the portfolio in senior forumsChairing high-level steering committeesPreparing executive briefs and periodic portfolio performance reports About YouAt least five years' experience leading technical delivery teams with technical oversight of projects ideally within federal governmentAt least five years' experience as a Senior Project or Program Manager - Portfolio Management HIGHLY regardedExperience working in government or delivering services to a government agencyStrong portfolio, program, and project governance capabilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to clearly explain complex technical matters to senior executives and non-technical stakeholdersProven success collaborating with executives, vendors, delivery teams and business stakeholdersStrong leadership skills, with the ability to build cohesive and capable teamsExperience fostering a positive culture, supporting professional development, and aligning teams with organisational valuesA recognised project management or portfolio certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, P3O, MSP, or SAFeCommonwealth Procurement experienceBaseline AGSVA minimum on commencement with ability to obtain NV1 Apply Please share your CV and profile with Kylie.McManus // Kylie.McManus@talentinternational.com.
