We have partnered with a leading multi-strategy hedge fund ($10bn+ AUM) looking to make multiple Equity Long/Short Portfolio Manager hires for their Equity Long/Short platform in New York. The fund is well-capitalised, growing, and committed to backing experienced risk-takers with meaningful resources, autonomy, and competitive payouts. The investment platform is structured to reward long-term performance and provides excellent infrastructure and support, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, cross-team knowledge sharing, and best-in-class risk management. The fund is particularly focused on onboarding PMs with deep sector expertise in financials, industrials, healthcare, materials, and energy.
For Associate PMs: 1.5–2+ years of full track managing $100M–$150M+ with average PnL of $15M–$20M+ annually. For Senior PMs: 3–5+ years managing $250M–$300M+ with a multi-year average PnL of $20M–$40M+. Equity Long/Short strategies with a strong tilt toward US equities; broader DM equity exposure is also of interest. Preference for market-neutral approaches, though more directional-biased strategies will be considered where risk is tightly controlled. Ideally a career Sharpe ratio of 1.5+. Demonstrated resilience during tougher market environments (Eg. 2022). Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a high-performance, collaborative environment. Demonstrated discipline, independence, and accountability in investment decision-making.
The fund is open to both Senior PMs and Associate PMs, with particular interest in candidates running strategies that are US Equities dominant. Preference is given to market-neutral strategies, however the fund is open to more directional approaches where there is a clear and disciplined risk framework in place.
