Job Description

Senior Vice President, United Overseas Bank Ltd

Portfolio manager for the Equity related strategies within the DPM team.

  • Selects and constructs Global Equity model portfolio, with Asia and Europe being primary coverage
  • Stays actively aware of developments in macro trends and various drivers of individual stock positions.
  • Contributes to asset allocation decision, hedging ideas and deployment of derivatives to manage portfolio risk/reward and alter payoff structure of strategies.
  • Implements and rebalances strategy across accounts whenever necessary.
  • Manages and reviews bespoke and highly customized portfolios for Ultra-High-Net-Worth and Family Offices (including cash management and hedging solutions etc.)
  • Effectively and convincingly communicates (internally and externally, in writing and verbally) about equity strategy in a multi-asset-class framework.
  • Work closely with mandate sales team in acquiring, retaining and pitching discretionary mandates.
  • Plays an active role in developing and enhancing the mandate product shelf to ensure that Equity related investment offerings are current and relevant to client needs.

Personal and Social

Communicates complex market views and ideas in a concise and convincing manner. Excellent communication + presentation skills in English (fluency in Business Mandarin is a definite plus.) Ability to be flexible and think out of the box to meet clients' various investment needs. Independent and willing to help with AUM gathering work. Able to multitask with competing demands at work and is careful with trades. Excellent people skills, high-impact and confident presence with strong sales + negotiation skills, client-focused and performance-oriented team player.

Professional and Technical

10-15 years of experience in a relevant role with Equities focus. Preferably a broad and deep understanding of financial instruments + markets (CFA certification is a definite plus). Extensive experience managing equities or multi-asset class portfolios throughout a full business cycle. Strong and consistent track record oriented. Solid knowledge of derivatives, derivative strategies, and their use in structured products (for leverage, optimization, and risk management).
