Customer Project Manager

Location: Hybrid, ideally South UK Working Pattern: Hybrid, with travel to customer sites as delivery requires Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Clearance: SC Company: Tektora, supporting a national security and defence technology provider Tektora are supporting a national security and defence technology provider who are looking to add an experienced Customer Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects. You will connect customer priorities to technical execution, controlling scope, risk and cost while aligning cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders around shared goals. This role would suit someone who enjoys owning delivery end to end, and who is as comfortable defending a project margin as they are chairing a governance session with a senior customer. The Role You Will Be Involved In Leading end-to-end delivery of medium to large projects and complex multi-track workstreams. Owning project representation in approved tools, covering forecasting, resource allocation and partner SOWs and invoicing. Controlling scope creep, managing RAID items and maintaining accurate cost and revenue forecasts to defend project margins. Acting as the primary delivery liaison, connecting customer business priorities to technical execution. Partnering with customer stakeholders on contract change requests, escalations and value realisation. Integrating AI and automation for predictive risk management, automated reporting and workflow optimisation. Analysing delivery KPIs such as defect rates and cycle times to drive continuous process improvement. Establishing clear governance frameworks, metrics and RACI models across cross-functional delivery teams. Key Experience Required SC clearance. Demonstrable experience of working in National Security and Defence. Significant project management experience, including dedicated experience leading end-to-end delivery of enterprise software, SaaS solutions and/or professional services to external enterprise-level clients, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience of delivery frameworks including Agile (Scrum and Kanban), Waterfall and hybrid approaches. Experience managing medium to large scale and complex projects, with the ability to proactively identify and minimise risks, handle rigorous delivery timelines, and facilitate high-level communication across cross-functional teams and senior customers. Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI, or PMI-ACP, CPMAI, or PRINCE2 Practitioner status. Ability to build relationships with multiple cross-functional stakeholders, internal and external, resolve conflict and align on shared objectives. Desirable Experience Commercial ownership of delivery, including partner statements of work, invoicing and contract change requests. Cost and revenue forecasting with accountability for protecting project margin. Use of AI and automation in delivery, for predictive risk management, automated reporting or workflow optimisation. Building governance frameworks and RACI models from scratch across cross-functional teams. Using delivery KPIs and metrics to drive measurable continuous improvement. Experience across MOD, government or wider secure public sector programmes. Interested?
