Introduction: A Leading bank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Lake Project Manager (PM) to join their dynamic team on a day-rate contract basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, build, and deployment of a Microsoft Azure-based cloud data store/lake, ensuring seamless integration of interfaces, data feeds, and the development of reporting and management information (MI) capabilities to support key business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Project Management:Lead and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for the development and implementation of the data lake within Microsoft Azure.Define project scope, objectives, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business needs and priorities.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource plans, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of key milestones.Coordinate cross-functional teams, including data architects, data engineers, business analysts, and vendors, to ensure smooth execution of the project.
Data Lake Design and Build:Oversee the design and build of the Microsoft Azure cloud data lake, ensuring best practices in architecture and scalability.Coordinate the integration of various data sources, ensuring seamless ingestion of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into the data lake.Collaborate with data engineers to establish and implement robust data pipelines and feeds into the lake.
Interface and Data Feeds Integration:Lead the design and implementation of interfaces and data feeds into the data lake, ensuring data flows are optimized, accurate, and efficient.Work closely with the business and IT teams to ensure data integration meets the company's analytical and operational requirements.
Reporting and Management Information (MI):Ensure the development of reporting and MI tools to deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders.Collaborate with business teams to understand reporting requirements and ensure the successful delivery of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
Stakeholder Management:Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams, business units, and senior leadership, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
Necessary Experience:Strong Banking background.Proven experience as a Project Manager (PM) on large-scale data lake or cloud data platform implementations, preferably with Microsoft Azure.Strong knowledge of Azure Data Services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.Experience with integrating data from a wide range of sources into a cloud-based data lake environment.Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a cloud-based setting.Solid experience in reporting, Business Intelligence (BI), and Management Information (MI) solutions, including Power BI or similar tools.
