IT Project Coordinator cum PMO – Banking

Job SummaryThe IT PMO is responsible for supporting the planning, governance, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of technology projects within the banking/financial services environment. The role works closely with Project Managers, technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and senior management to ensure projects are delivered according to scope, timeline, budget, quality, and governance requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers in planning and managing IT projects across banking applications, digital banking, payments, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other technology initiatives.Maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, RAID logs, action items, and project documentation.Monitor project progress against approved scope, timeline, budget, and deliverables.Prepare weekly/monthly project status reports, dashboards, management reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders.Coordinate project governance meetings, including project status meetings, steering committees, and management reviews.Track and follow up on project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and mitigation actions.Coordinate with Business, IT, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and external vendors.Ensure project deliverables and documentation comply with internal PMO, IT governance, risk, and banking regulatory requirements.Track project financials, resource allocation, vendor activities, purchase orders, and project budgets where required.Manage project change requests and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.Maintain project repositories, documentation, meeting minutes, action logs, and decision registers.Monitor project resources, workload, deliverables, and dependencies across multiple workstreams.Support project audits and ensure required documentation and evidence are maintained.Assist with project closure activities, including lessons learned, handover documentation, and post-implementation reviews.Identify project delays, risks, and governance gaps and escalate them to the appropriate stakeholders.Support continuous improvement of PMO processes, templates, reporting standards, and project governance practices.Banking Domain ResponsibilitiesSupport technology projects involving Core Banking, Internet/Mobile Banking, Payments, Cards, Loans, Deposits, AML, KYC, CRM, and Banking Applications.Coordinate projects involving UAT, SIT, system integration, application implementation, migration, and production deployment.Ensure project activities align with banking security, risk, compliance, audit, and change-management requirements.Coordinate with business users and technology teams throughout project implementation and testing phases.Track dependencies between banking applications, APIs, middleware, infrastructure, and third-party systems.Required SkillsStrong project coordination and PMO governance skills.Good understanding of IT project lifecycle and SDLC.Experience with project planning, reporting, RAID management, risk/issue tracking, and stakeholder management.Strong documentation and presentation skills.Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Project; experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar tools is an advantage.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects/workstreams simultaneously.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Experience working with banking/financial services stakeholders is highly desirable.Typical DeliverablesProject status reportsPMO dashboardsProject plans and schedulesRAID logsRisk and issue reportsAction trackersMeeting minutesSteering committee presentationsProject financial/resource reportsChange request documentationProject governance documentationUAT/SIT status trackingProject closure and lessons-learned reportsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, Finance, or a related field.Typically 3–7 years of experience in IT PMO, Project Coordination, Project Management, or Technology Governance.Banking or financial services experience is preferred.PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum/Agile, ITIL, or other project-management certifications are advantageous.
