About The Project

Lead the delivery of a landmark healthcare project. Balfour Beatty has an outstanding opportunity for a Project Director to oversee the delivery of the new Lochaber Hospital in Fort William, a major healthcare development. This role involves shaping the project from the pre-construction phase through contract close, construction, commissioning, and handover.

We welcome applications from experienced Project Directors and highly skilled Senior Project Managers with a successful track record in delivering complex healthcare projects and readiness to take on a director-level role.

Healthcare Construction Experience Is Essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project through various phases including pre-construction, contract close, construction, commissioning, and handover
• Develop and implement the project strategy in alignment with client and business objectives
• Build and lead a high-performing team
• Establish strong relationships with stakeholders
• Maintain control of programme, cost, quality, scope, risk, and project benefits
• Lead project governance, performance reviews, and reporting
• Ensure robust commercial management and budget control
• Drive procurement and supply-chain strategy
• Manage risk, opportunity, and change processes
• Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental performance, and quality
• Create a positive project culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement

About You

Requirements:

• Significant experience in delivering major healthcare construction projects
• Experience in pre-construction and construction delivery stages
• Track record on high-value, complex projects
• Strong leadership skills
• Understanding of construction contracts and project management
• Experience in managing budgets, programmes, risks, procurement, and supply-chain
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and collaborative working
• Construction or project management qualification preferred
