Job Description

About the Opportunity

To support the effective delivery of the ElderAid befriending programme through meaningful engagement with beneficiaries, befrienders and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Assist in strengthening SRC’s role in the local community, specifically in the Red Cross Community Hub.
Work closely with the Programme Executive and Head on the development and progression of the befriending programme in the various districts.
Collaborate with grassroots, government and non-government agencies on the development and management of both the befrienders and the beneficiaries.
Provide quality and personalized one-stop information services for clients and community stakeholders.
Support training of befrienders to strengthen and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Equip volunteers with adequate proficiency skills in the “Befriending of the Elderly” in the community.
Ensure timely update of all information.
Coordinate with Programme Manager and relevant District Managers for the follow up of the client(s).
Plan and carry out local engagements for the volunteers in collaboration with the relevant District Managers.

Eligibility

Qualifications And Experience / Skills

Proficiency in spoken Mandarin is required to effectively support and communicate with Mandarin-speaking beneficiaries.
Ability to communicate in local Chinese dialects (e.g. Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew) would be an advantage to facilitate communication with beneficiaries who are more comfortable conversing in these dialects.
At least 2 years working experience in volunteer management is preferred.
Experience working in healthcare or with the elderly, would be advantageous.
Computer literate.
