The Portfolio Manager (PM) is responsible for servicing and retaining a loan portfolio while minimizing the bank's credit risk exposure and maximizing client satisfaction. This will be accomplished through their thorough understanding of the Bank’s credit risk appetite and financial analysis, their control and management of loan renewals, new loan requests and as being a trusted advisor on the clients’ banking needs. The PM will also uncover future banking needs by executing on a proactive approach towards deepening and expanding the client relationships within their portfolio. The PM will require direct client calls, structuring loan proposals, loan pricing, referring new deposit accounts or Treasury Management products; while driving to succeed and uphold the CommerceWest Bank principle of providing “myth-like” experiences and uphold the Bank’s brand.
BA preferred or 5-7 years of experience in a related position. A minimum of 5 years banking experience with an emphasis on relationship management, portfolio management, and commercial lending. Ability to develop and strengthen banking relationships to encourage satisfied clients that refer new business from their spheres of influence and are active members of the CommerceWest culture. Proven ability to manage a portfolio of commercial clients to include monitoring loan covenants and structuring loan proposals. Very strong organizational, time management skills, and leadership qualities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to self-generate and drive new business with strong presentation skills. Must be a team player, self-starter, flexible, be able to multitask, exemplifies integrity, work independently, goes above and beyond, and meet deadlines. Must present a professional image.
