John Naughton

John Naughton is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Project Management (IPM), where he leads the organisation’s strategy, growth, and capability development. He works with governments, multinational organisations, and industry leaders across Ireland, the UK, the UAE, and internationally to strengthen project delivery capability and organisational performance. At IPM, he oversees multidisciplinary teams across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Technology, Product, and Project Delivery, driving innovation and sustainable growth.

John began his career in finance, working in investment banking, equity sales trading, and financial analysis in Dublin and London before moving into project management leadership. He is also the Founder and CEO of IPM Software, developing AI-powered solutions for project professionals, and serves as President of IPMA Ireland. John holds an MSc in Finance from Imperial College London, a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin, is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA), and an IPMA Level B® Certified Senior Project Manager. He is passionate about advancing project leadership and helping organisations deliver lasting impact.
