Portfolio Manager (DEFI & Funds)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading global Web3 and crypto enterprise with multiple awards and a strong reputation across the wider crypto sector. As part of its continued expansion, the company is looking to make another key hire for its Middle East team.

Role Requirement

We are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day management and strategic oversight of the fund's segregated portfolios. This role is responsible for driving investment execution, allocating capital across DeFi ecosystems, centralised exchanges (CEX), and real-world asset opportunities, while overseeing both on-chain and off-chain operational activities. Blending institutional portfolio management with digital asset expertise, the position requires a hands-on approach to blockchain-based fund operations, including trade execution, custodian relationships, smart contract interactions, and the seamless administration of investment processes across traditional and decentralised financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Investment Committee-approved portfolio transactions and strategies
• Deploy capital to approved DeFi protocols via the institutional custody platform
• Manage capital allocations to quantitative managers through segregated CEX accounts
• Monitor portfolio exposures daily
• Review portfolio positioning for rebalancing or yield optimisation opportunities

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in portfolio management, trading, investment operations, or a related field
• Experience in managing discretionary portfolios or proprietary trading strategies
• Operating in blockchain or digital assets in a leadership or supervisory role

Technical Knowledge

• Strong DeFi knowledge across lending, staking, liquidity pools, yield optimisation
• Hands-on experience with institutional custody platforms, DeFi integrations, wallet administration

Skills & Competencies

• Strong operational discipline
• Risk-focused mindset
• Excellent communicator

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Professional credentials including CFA, CAIA, FRM
