About the Opportunity

Sun UW MGA is an international Managing General Agent focused on developing profitable specialty insurance portfolios across global markets. We are actively expanding our underwriting platform and are seeking experienced insurance professionals who can bring and grow existing books of business. We are open to both traditional and non-traditional classes of business and are willing to consider opportunities across multiple jurisdictions and niche market segments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of insurance business.
  • Transfer and develop profitable underwriting relationships through the Sun UW MGA platform.
  • Maintain and expand broker and client relationships.
  • Identify new market opportunities and product development initiatives.
  • Ensure underwriting profitability and portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with capacity providers and reinsurance partners.

Eligibility

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of insurance industry experience.
  • Existing portfolio, broker relationships, client relationships, or production network.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate, influence, or transfer business.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting, portfolio management, or insurance distribution.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth and profitability.
  • Ability to work independently in an international environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Portfolios that can be placed with non-rated carriers.
  • Experience in specialty, niche, underserved, or difficult-to-place risks.
  • International business and cross-border insurance experience.
  • Existing relationships with brokers, agents, coverholders, MGAs, or corporate clients.
  • Experience developing new products or entering new markets.
