Emerging Market Credit, Portfolio Manager

About the Opportunity

We are representing a leading global fund looking to hire an experienced Portfolio Manager or Trader to run an Emerging Market credit strategy across corporates and sovereign bonds in London. This is a key role focused on driving performance through detailed analysis and active trading across global EM markets.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Create and execute investment ideas across Bonds and CDS.
  • Broad Market Coverage: Trade corporate bonds, sovereigns, quasi-sovereigns, and SSAs.
  • Risk Management: Manage a book within set limits while coordinating with the central risk team.
  • Portfolio Strategy: Develop trading strategies through RV and fundamental views.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with research analysts, traders, and other PMs to share insights and use firm resources.
  • Market Monitoring: Stay on top of macro trends, sector shifts, and specific company factors that impact credit.
  • Internal Support: Work with infrastructure teams on execution, compliance, and operations.

About You

Candidate Requirements: We are looking for an individual with a successful track record managing risk in EM credit. You should have experience in a long/short strategy at a hedge fund, credit fund, asset manager, or a top sell-side desk.

  • Proven Results: A history of generating alpha in both IG and HY EM credit.
  • Strong Skills: Deep experience in fundamental credit analysis and portfolio construction.
  • Collaborative Style: The ability to manage a book effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with risk systems and disciplined investment processes.
  • Experience: Significant background in credit investment roles with direct experience running risk.
