Senior PMO Project Coordinator | Strategic Project Management & Stakeholder Leadership

About the Opportunity

Synechron is seeking a skilled and dedicated PMO (Project Management Office) professional to lead our project coordination efforts. The key purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth delivery of projects through the development, implementation, and management of project management processes, methodologies, and tools. This role is vital in aligning projects with organizational goals, managing stakeholder engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the organization’s ability to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget, thus supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Software Requirements

  • Required: Microsoft Project, Jira, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint
  • Preferred: Power BI, MS Project Server, VersionOne, Confluence

Experience Level: Intermediate to Advanced proficiency, with a strong understanding of project management tools and platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead the PMO function to ensure efficient project delivery across all organizational units
  • Develop, execute, and refine project management processes, methodologies, and standards to optimize project outcomes
  • Manage project delivery teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and project scope
  • Collaborate proactively with stakeholders to identify potential issues and risks, implementing mitigation strategies
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by integrating best practices and lessons learned into project workflows
  • Ensure compliance with PMO governance, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide regular project status updates, reports, and insights to stakeholders and senior management
  • Drive the adoption of standardized project management tools and techniques organization-wide

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 8+ years of experience in project management roles, with at least several years in a PMO lead or senior project coordination position. Proven experience managing large and complex projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget, successful delivery. Demonstrated success in implementing and managing project management processes and frameworks. Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and cultural contexts. Industry experience in finance, technology, or consulting services is preferred but not mandatory.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop and refine project management processes, tools, and templates
  • Lead and coordinate project delivery teams, tracking progress and resolving issues
  • Conduct regular meetings with project teams and stakeholders to review status and risks
  • Monitor project performance metrics and generate performance reports for leadership
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices
  • Escalate project risks and issues promptly, providing strategic solutions
  • Ensure all projects comply with organizational governance and quality standards

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent is highly desirable. Ongoing professional development in project management methodologies and tools.
