Job Description

Support and develop high performing case managers within a large, complex and fast-paced environment. Lead quality case management across a diverse operational portfolio within the Qantas Group. 12-month parental leave cover position based at our head office in Mascot, Sydney.

As the Portfolio Manager, Case Management (ER Manager), you'll support and develop a team of Case Managers handling complex and sensitive employee matters. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Case Management, you’ll review casework, coach through complexity, and partner closely with senior leaders, HR and IR to manage risk and deliver balanced outcomes. You’ll also contribute to reporting, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. As we look to improve our operating model, you will play a key role in supporting the broader HR team on understanding the case management process.

This role is ideal for an experienced Employee Relations Manager or ER professional who enjoys combining hands-on case expertise with coaching and leadership in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Employment Law/Human Resources/related field
  • Proven experience in Employee Relations, case management or employment law, ideally in a large, complex or highly regulated organization
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, reviewing work and developing capability
  • Strong judgment and attention to detail in complex and sensitive matters
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills, including with senior leaders
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset and confidence using data and insights to inform decisions
  • High levels of resilience, emotional intelligence, and professionalism
