About the Opportunity

Lynk is recruiting for our next Project Coordinator in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The Project Coordinator addresses technical inquiries in the field, maintains working relationships with the client, the General Contractor, and other subcontractors, and assists in various administrative and technical aspects of project management. The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager.

Lynk was established in 1948 as a small electrical shop in Glace Bay, NS. Today, it is a leading electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and controls & instrumentation contractor, and part of the Cahill Group.

Our experienced, local team efficiently manages commercial, municipal, industrial, and renewable energy projects in and around Cape Breton. With highly trained technicians and tradespeople, Lynk offers innovative solutions for controls and system integration as well as multi-disciplinary maintenance needs in the areas of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and traffic, and streetlights.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and build good relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner
  • Review specifications and shop drawings
  • Liaise with various contractors and subcontractors on the integration of systems
  • Participate in project meetings regarding Electrical issues, as required
  • Report to Project Manager on project status
  • Collect timesheets from field and formats reports for payroll and cost control
  • Work with the Project Controller to develop a schedule for the project and monitors actual against planned
  • Ensure documentation (commercial and quality) is kept up-to-date
  • Prepare operational manual documentation package
  • Monitor and intervene to ensure equipment on the critical path is delivered on time
  • Ensure progress on site follows QA policies and procedures e.g., tracking change orders
  • Address technical inquiries in the field for various projects and maintain working relationships with the client and other subcontractors
  • Complete purchase requisitions and material expediting and control
  • Assist with the preparation of material takeoffs, estimates, budgets, and schedules
  • Review and understand the scope of work, project specifications, design instructions, and supplier information

About You

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Technical knowledge in the Electrical discipline
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree or diploma in Engineering Technology - New grads welcome!
  • Equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills with a positive, solution-oriented approach
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and administrative abilities
  • Experience using Bluebeam/Revit/Navisworks/AutoCAD is considered an asset

Eligibility

This position supports projects in Cape Breton; however, a rotational schedule would be considered for the right candidate.
