Oil Portfolio Manager – Global Hedge Fund (UAE)

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a global multi-manager hedge fund seeking to hire an experienced Oil Portfolio Manager to join their commodities platform based in the UAE. The firm provides significant capital allocation, institutional risk infrastructure, and strong operational support, enabling Portfolio Managers to focus on generating alpha across global energy markets.

This role is suited to a proven trader with a demonstrable track record trading crude oil and refined products. The successful candidate will run a dedicated oil portfolio, identifying directional and relative value opportunities across the oil complex.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio focused on global crude oil and refined product markets
• Generate and execute high-conviction trading strategies across futures, spreads, and derivatives
• Identify opportunities across the oil complex including Brent, WTI, and key refined products
• Monitor global supply and demand dynamics, geopolitics, OPEC policy, and macro drivers impacting energy markets
• Maintain disciplined risk management and portfolio construction within the firm’s framework
• Work closely with analysts and data teams to enhance research and trading capabilities

Requirements

• Proven track record generating PnL trading oil markets
• Deep understanding of crude oil and refined product markets and derivatives
• Experience trading within a hedge fund, investment bank, or commodity trading house
• Strong understanding of global energy fundamentals including supply chains, inventories, and refinery dynamics
• Ability to operate within an institutional risk and drawdown framework
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
