Portfolio Manager – Multi-Asset – External Manager Investments – Family Office

About the Opportunity

Collins Executive Recruitment has been exclusively mandated to appoint a Portfolio Manager on behalf of a well-capitalised private investment office with a long-term and flexible investment mandate. The organisation is expanding its allocation to external fund managers across public and private markets as part of its continued evolution. The platform invests permanent capital with a multi-decade horizon, enabling decisions to be driven by conviction rather than quarterly pressure. It combines institutional discipline with the agility of a private capital base, and maintains a clear commitment to responsible, values-aligned investing.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the third-party manager portfolio across asset classes and geographies
• Source and assess global fund managers across public and private markets
• Lead thorough due diligence covering strategy, performance attribution, risk, operations and team quality
• Determine allocation sizing, pacing and portfolio construction parameters
• Monitor portfolio exposures, liquidity and risk characteristics
• Contribute to strategic and tactical asset allocation discussions
• Prepare investment papers and present recommendations to senior decision-makers

About You

The successful candidate will bring:
8-15 years’ experience within a family office, institutional allocator, endowment, sovereign fund, asset consultant, wealth manager or fund-of-funds environment.
You will have strong exposure to manager research and portfolio construction across multiple asset classes, with demonstrated judgement in assessing both investment strategies and teams.
You will be commercially astute, analytically rigorous and comfortable operating with autonomy.
Clear communication skills are essential, as is the ability to engage constructively in investment debate.
A long-term mindset and alignment with values-driven investing are important.
