About the Opportunity

Location: SAMS, Oban

Contract Type: Open-ended

Working Pattern: Full Time - 37 hours per week

Salary Range: Grade 5/6 (depending on experience); Grade 5: £31,396 - £34,980. Grade 6: £37,099 - £41,732 per annum

Closing date: 6th January 2026

Responsibilities

  • Project management and marine consultancy
  • Coordinating and managing projects within budget and customer requirements
  • Lead editor/author on technical assessments/reports
  • Demonstrate technical competency and provide leadership in scientific specialism
  • Engage in opportunity development and business proposals

About You

A degree or postgraduate degree in a marine environmental discipline. Relevant experience in consultancy or regulatory background, including survey work and management. Demonstrated project management experience in a competitive environment. Proficiency in software like Q-GIS, R, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of costing, finance, and time management. Experience in collaborative work and contract management.
