Requirement OverviewThe purpose of the role is to set the standard of excellence across strategic projects and programmes. The role ensures strategic oversight, execution, prioritisation and institutionalisation of strategic projects and programmes across the AGSA value chain. The role is also responsible for ensuring the alignment and effective execution of strategic project portfolio management accountabilities, to ensure benefits realisation within the AGSA. The role prioritises strategic initiatives and advises/ recommends on which strategic initiatives should be executed. Roles & ResponsibilitiesStrategic FunctionContribute to the formulation and drive the implementation of the AGSA’s long term strategy in the Business Change and Value office.Prioritise strategic initiatives across the AGSA.Drive institutionalisation of strategic projects across the AGSA.Drive efforts to institutionalise strategic programmes within AGSA, ensuring ownership and accountability across business units and stakeholders.Lead the realisation of benefits of strategic projects and programmes across the AGSA value chain.Influence EXCO structures and interface with PPIC/other relevant committees.
Product ManagementEnsure the integration and alignment of strategic projects and programmes across the AGSA.Optimize the execution of projects and programmes to ensure benefits realisation across the programme and projects.Oversee the Governance, Risk and Compliance process for Programmes and Projects.Monitor and evaluate benefits realisation across the strategic projects and programmes.Ensure Project Sponsor is accountable for compliance and adherence across the various strategic projects and programmes.Manage the optimization of processes, resource allocation across strategic projects and programmes.Act as the custodian of strategic programme and project optimisation.Influence resource allocation based on impact, benefits realisation, and enforcement.Drive the institutionalization and ownership of strategic programmes in the various stakeholder groupings.Utilise data to create insights that inform business performance against strategic projects and programmes.Ensure benefits realization projects and programmes across the value chain.Ensure effective governance, risk, compliance and leadership ownership through the various project and programme stage gates.Ensure adherence to the Business Change and Value office framework.Resolve Conflicts and escalate to PPIC and / or other relevant stakeholders.Act as a mediator to resolve conflicts among key decision-makers within the organisation and escalate unresolved issues to the PPIC and / or other relevant stakeholders for resolution.
Stakeholder ManagementDrive visibility through effective internal and external stakeholder engagements.Implement the stakeholder engagement plan in line with the AGSA stakeholder engagement framework.Direct stakeholders through stage gates to deliver on the benefits realisation mandate of strategic projects and programmes.Influence EXCO structures, interfacing with the PPIC, and making recommendations for go or no-go decisions based on the Business Change and Value office framework and standards for excellence.Establish strong relationships with executive leadership and effectively interface with the Programme and Project Investment Committee (PPIC) to drive decision-making aligned with Business Change and Value office objectives.Collaborate closely with People Portfolio to ensure change management on Business Change and Value office capability is embedded and supporting business on change management guidelines on any strategic projects undertaken.Provide leadership, oversight and support of key projects and programmes.
People ManagementParticipate and/ or take lead in the business unit transformation/ culture plans.Provide support to the management team regarding centre management and other people-related tasks.
Financial ManagementAssist in managing and reporting on the centre budget in accordance with the approved finance policies.Contribute in compiling of the centre budget, implement and monitor the budget for the allocated projects.Ensure compliance to AGSA policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures.Manage supply chain processes within scope of work
Other responsibilities (Applicable to All JD’s)Perform and/or manage other projects, tasks and assignments not stipulated on the Job description as and when required.
Skills, Experience & EducationFormal EducationThis position requires a minimum NQF Level 8 i.e. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or MBA in Project Management or equivalent. ExperienceMinimum 10+ year’s relevant experience with at least 6 years’ experience operating at a senior management/ executive level in the management of large and complex Digital Transformation, Information Technology and other strategic business-related projects and programs.
