Senior Technical Project Manager (CITID)

Job Description

Corporate IT Infrastructure department is seeking a highly experienced senior technical project manager to join our team. This position will manage projects related to Rakuten’s core application development systems and toolsets. The ideal candidate would have a strong technical background, communicate effectively with executives, development teams, and vendors, manage numerous complex projects and deliver specified projects within agreed time, quality and cost. Additional responsibilities include reporting project status to management, researching and working with senior leaders and architects to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

Research technical requests and provide recommendations to technology leaders and managementCreate project plans and roadmaps, align internal and external teams to the plansReport project status to executive managementManage project priority and risk across the portfolioCoordinate proof of concepts and investigation effortsCommunicate effectively with senior executives, architects, development teams, and vendorsWork independently to ensure the successful completion of projectsManage various SaaS migration projects

Requirements

8+ years of project management experienceProject management certification (PMI, PRINCE, PMP)Strong technical background especially software development areaFamiliarity with application development lifecycle toolsExcellent communication skillsAbility to work independentlyBusiness level in English and Japanese

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in business analysis, cost managementCommunication/negotiation with multiple vendorsFamiliarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA and ConfluenceBasic technical writing skillsExperience with technical training

English (Overall - 3 - Advanced)
