About the Opportunity

Location: On site in Charlotte, NC

Summary

The Portfolio Manager assists in the assessment of risk and management of the Bank’s loan portfolio by providing analytical and credit oversight. Responsible for annual review, renewal, loan covenant compliance reviews, and financial collection process within assigned loan portfolio. Partners with Relationship Managers to grow and develop a high-quality and profitable loan portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, underwriting, origination, and portfolio management of loans in a growing commercial and corporate portfolio.
• Utilize loan structuring, risk identification, and risk mitigation skills.
• Manage complex relationships with C&I and income-producing real estate (CRE) borrowers.
• Partner with Relationship Managers to call on current or potential clients, develop lending proposals, and identify cross-sell opportunities.
• Oversight of post-approval due diligence requirements and commercial loan documentation preparation.
• Build and maintain a portfolio mix of targeted high-value and high-potential clients.
• Partner with junior team members to delegate tasks related to the origination and servicing of the loan portfolio.
• Provide feedback and guidance to develop the skills of junior team members.

About You

Required experience, education, and skills:

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial underwriting and portfolio management experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
• Strong computer skills with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
