Structured Credit Analyst – Assistant Portfolio Manager

About the Opportunity

First Sentier Short Term Investments Team. This is no ordinary team. Short term investments and cash funds have evolved over the past four decades. Responsibilities

  • In-depth credit analysis of Structured & Securitised credit opportunities including due diligence undertakings and financial analysis of structure, originator, industry trends and ESG analysis.
  • Monitor performance and risk metrics across existing RMBS holdings and portfolios. Includes monitoring of earnings, activity reports and market developments.
  • Identify investment opportunities and collaborate with portfolio managers to inform investment decisions and strategy.
  • Engage with issuers, rating agencies, and other market participants.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and analytical tools to assist in the automation and efficiency of the business.
  • Provide and maintain research and data for internal needs and external clients.

About You

Approximately five years’ experience in debt financial markets, undertaking corporate or securitised credit analysis. Deep understanding and experience of Australian banking industry, RMBS structures, and regulatory frameworks. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field. Advanced degree / qualifications are advantageous. Strong credit analysis skills. Must be able to analyse financial statements/ modelling (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow), produce credit research/proposals and relative value assessment. Formal credit training and familiarity with legal documents (credit agreements, etc). Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in data analysis. Experience with programming languages such as Python or SQL is desirable.
