Great opportunity to join a growing boutique consultancy working with blue chip clients on a large scale new build project. Candidates can come from Head Contractor or Client Side Consultancy but must have client side consultancy experience.
Our client is a growing boutique project management consultancy with an established pipeline of projects across Commercial, Education, Hospitality, Hotels, Health, Aged Care and Government projects to name a few from smaller up to $300m+.
They are now looking for an experienced Project Director to join their successful team based in their Sydney office.
The candidate can come from a head contractor or a client side background (will need to have some client side experience) with excellent progression opportunities. Candidate will need to have full project life cycle experience from inception to completion and have experience managing and mentoring a team.
The role will be a hands on delivery focused PM and they are looking for someone to roll their sleeves up and deliver projects as well as mentoring a team delivering projects across multiple sectors. The current projects in this portfolio are up to $20m however there are others which will be $100m+ in the pipeline as well.
In addition to delivering projects and managing and maintaining current client relationships there will be opportunities to assist with tender and proposal preparations and submissions.
Reporting to the Company Directors
Responsibilities include but not limited to:Scope developmentManaging regulatory approvalsDesign co-ordinationStakeholder management and liaisonWorking in a “live” environment (some of the buildings may remain open during construction)Health and safetyProgram managementContract administrationConstruction management of project deliveryManagement of site variations and design changesCost managementProvide mentorship to junior members of the team and offer guidanceManaging the tender/proposal preparations and submissionsMaintain strong client relationsPreparation and maintenance of Project Plans
Qualifications and Requirements:Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Building, Project Management or similar7 - 15+ years’ experience in a client side PM role, head contractor experience would also be idealProven end to end project management skills from concept through to completionExposure to program management, managing timelines and critical pathsExperience of end to end project management on a variety of building projects, commercial fit out would be an advantageSuperior leaderships and mentorship skillsExcellent communication skillset both written and verbalHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsAbility to think on your feet and excellent problem solving skillsProficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project as well as experience with various industry standard contract forms ie; GC21, MW21, AS4000, AS4122 and AS4902
