About the Opportunity
ENGIE is a global leader in low-carbon energy supply and services, with a focus on energy storage and renewable energy in the UK market. The First Hydro Company, part of ENGIE, operates 2 pumped storage power stations in North Wales with a peak generating capacity of over 2000 MW.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Director in leading the delivery of the Dinorwig Refurbishment Project.
- Manage key workstreams and packages, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Coordinate internal and external resources for successful project execution.
- Champion collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
About You
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage key elements of the project through contract negotiation, execution, and handover phases.
- Deputise for the Project Director as required.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and milestones for compliance with scope, budget, and program.
- Ensure alignment and collaboration across technical and non-technical professionals.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of power generation and quality, health & safety requirements.
- Proven effective leadership, negotiation, and delegation skills.
- Results-oriented with strong communication and organizational abilities.
Experience
- Significant experience managing project teams on major investment programs.
- Proven delivery of Health and Safety strategies and financial control.
- Experience with FIDIC Contracts, field work in the energy sector, and project delivery alongside routine operations.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (Chartered status).
- Masters Degree in Engineering.
- APMP Practitioner or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma.
Location
The successful candidate is expected to work at both Dinorwig and Ffestiniog power stations in Snowdonia, Wales.
