Your day at NTT DATA

The Carrier Portfolio Manager brings deep expertise and a strong understanding of the carrier landscape, integrating both commercial and technical carrier products to support effective supplier management and deliver tailored solutions for clients. Their knowledge of the organization enables them to craft solutions that align precisely with client requirements and strategic objectives.

This role is responsible for the design, promotion, and market positioning of NTT’s carrier-related products and services. The Carrier Portfolio Manager plays a key role in identifying new commercially viable offerings and uncovering opportunities to enhance existing products and services to maintain competitive advantage.

In addition, the Carrier Portfolio Manager provides insightful impact assessments and strategic guidance to ensure that the carrier framework adheres to governance standards and compliance requirements. Their contributions directly influence the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality, compliant, and market-relevant carrier solutions.

Key Role & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, consultants, technical architects, and solution architects to ensure solutions align with client requirements.
  • Drive product sales to meet agreed financial targets and performance goals.
  • Formulate commercial models and take ownership of the portfolio’s profit and loss performance.
  • Develop and deliver carrier product training to client-facing teams.
  • Guide and influence the sales team to effectively position and close deals involving carrier products and services.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Deep understanding of both local and global carrier landscapes.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in handling large datasets.
  • Commercial acumen in pricing strategies, cost analysis, and financial performance management.
  • Investigative mindset with the ability to unpack complex carrier-related challenges.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and able to take initiative.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Academic Qualifications & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Commerce, or a related field.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an ISP or carrier-based environment.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing new products or product lines.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess market opportunities, pricing strategies, and financial performance.
  • Proven track record in Information Technology sales.
