About the Opportunity

At Wavenet, we connect people, technology, and opportunities—and we’re looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager – Projects to take ownership of our Customer Projects Portfolio.

This is your chance to lead the effectiveness of the Project Management function, ensure excellence in delivery, and drive continuous improvement across our customer-facing projects.

About The Role

As Portfolio Manager – Projects, you’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll manage resources effectively, uphold governance and best practice, and act as the key escalation point for Project Managers and customers.

You’ll also play a pivotal role in coaching and developing Project Managers, partnering with Sales during the pre-sales process, and strengthening relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure success across our entire customer projects portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing project delivery across Wavenet’s Customer Projects Portfolio to budget, timescale, and quality measures.
  • Ensuring best practice is consistently applied for successful project outcomes.
  • Coaching and developing Project Managers to build capability and performance.
  • Acting as an escalation point for Project Managers and customers.
  • Overseeing financial controls, reporting, and profitability across the portfolio.
  • Collaborating with project-dependent functions and teams to improve processes.
  • Supporting Sales with project proposals and bid responses when required.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Driving a customer-led approach to project delivery and ensuring high satisfaction.
  • Contributing to systems and initiatives that enhance project management efficiency.

  • Consistent delivery of projects on time and on budget.
  • High customer satisfaction scores for all customer projects.
  • Improved governance, process compliance, and quality across the portfolio.
  • Demonstrable process improvements within the Project Management function.

  • Excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to represent Wavenet confidently.
  • Skilled in reporting and tracking key metrics to drive performance improvements.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Professional Project Management qualification (e.g., APM, Prince2 Practitioner).
  • Extensive experience in managing complex project portfolios.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing teams.
  • Track record of delivering projects to high standards in a commercial environment.
