The Project Director (Design and Build) for the New Women and Babies Hospital Project (NWBHP) will be responsible for overseeing the managing contractor’s design and construction deliverables to ensure compliance with the contract and performance brief as well as to approved scope, budget, and timeframe parameters. The role will report directly to the Senior Project Director NWBHP.
The position holder will lead a multi-functional team including the State’s technical advisory consultants. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the design management and contract management of complex, major infrastructure projects and evidence leadership behaviours that drive a ‘one team’ collaborative approach between the managing contractor and key agency stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
You are a dynamic, self-aware, and resilient individual that achieves results and identifies opportunities for the Department to leverage. You will possess strong technical project management skills across the full project life cycle, including demonstrated experience in all aspects of major project delivery, including design management, contract management, procurement, scheduling. You are a well-rounded leader and effective manager of project teams and work groups and support team members to develop and implement processes, systems and model and drive behaviours that enable effective project delivery. You monitor and ensure compliance with government, agency and public sector policy and process. You establish and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute towards an innovative, customer focused, high-performing and values-led organisational culture.

Currently there is one (1) full-time, fixed-term appointment available for filling from November 2025 until September 2029, with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next twenty four (24) months on a full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
