We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape a diverse range of change initiatives that support our strategic priorities, including regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and operational resilience.
Responsibilities:
* Work with key Business stakeholders across multiple geographies to clarify project objectives, outputs, and timescale, quality, and cost criteria; building balanced relationships to enable the achievement of project objectives
* Manage the inception and initiation of projects in accordance with the Change Management Framework, defining project approach, resource requirements, and estimating project delivery timelines and cost
* Define and agree project scope, deliverables, timescale, quality, cost, and benefits to ensure the business case can be articulated, understood, and agreed
* Define, establish, and manage the project structure, roles, and teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
* Plan, manage, monitor, and report on the work of (sometimes disparate) project teams to deliver the outputs to the agreed timescale, quality, and cost criteria
* Produce RAID logs and manage mitigation activities, including ongoing risk assessment
* Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to the project team and to other colleagues where appropriate
* Work with key Business stakeholders, leads, and sponsors to ensure clear and aligned communications are provided to set and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
* Work with the Technology team and/or external application vendors to include their costs, activities, and deliverables within the overall project scope and approach, providing challenge and support to ensure technology-related outcomes are achieved
* Build both high-level and detailed documents, using a mixture of pictorial and written means (within PowerPoint / Word) to effectively connect with the project team, peers, and stakeholders (including Executives and senior managers)
Requirements:
* Previous experience gained as a Senior Project Manager in the Financial Services industry is crucial, with general insurance (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry) highly desirable
* Knowledge of legal/regulatory/risk principles and practices relating to the insurance and/or FS industry
* Excellent knowledge of project management, business improvement, and change management methodologies
* Demonstrable full life cycle project management experience, including leading complex, scale, and time-bound projects (including those related to external software vendors)
* Experience of managing multiple concurrent projects
* Able to deliver projects/change to agreed outcomes across multiple disparate business divisions/geographies with differing needs and challenges, including Information Technology components
* Decisive leadership in times of ambiguity and evolving business needs with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
* Confidently builds and sustains a key relationship network at different levels
* A self-starter, deadline-driven; able to set/prioritise, including when under timeline pressure
* Creative problem-solver with the ability to think strategically as well as operate at a detailed level
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including Executives and senior-level management, coupled with the ability to empower others through good people leadership skills
* Ability to negotiate, persuade, and influence business decisions across stakeholder groups
* Ability to respond confidently to conflicts and manage situations positively, proactively escalating issues
