Project Manager – Corporate Transformation & Change

About the Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to deliver a range of complex cross-council, cross-organisational and departmental transformation projects. The projects will involve close working with corporate sponsors, service leads and internal/ external senior stakeholders and plays a key role in the Transformation and Change Group. This is a demanding role suited to a person experienced in managing complex projects in a local authority environment.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, develop and manage complex stakeholder relationships effectively and sympathetically
  • Develop appropriate and effective governance for projects that provides a clear route for decisions and authorization that will move projects along at pace
  • Assimilate and summarize complicated and ambiguous information and develop clear workstreams that will deliver aims and objectives
  • Develop robust risk strategies that mitigate risks and issues and guide the project delivery and reporting
  • Monitor progress against the project plan to ensure key milestones and deliverables are being achieved, escalating appropriately to support delivery
  • Work closely with the Programme Manager, Strategic Insight Unit and departmental colleagues to establish business cases. Lead and develop staff supporting the project
