About the Opportunity

Exciting opportunity to join a growing Macro Strategies team Managing Your Own Discretionary Trading Portfolio. Apply your Relative Value, FX options, Volatility and/or Macro Trading experience across all asset classes via idea generation in a collaborative, team-oriented manner. Sydney based.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and stay abreast of developments in global macro and markets
  • Generate trade ideas, manage positions and the overall portfolio of trades
  • Support and extend the Macro Strategies investment processes and frameworks
  • Contribute to and help prioritise the Macro Strategies team’s pipeline of research
  • Lead or contribute to projects to further enhance the Macro Strategies operating platform, to improve flexibility and reduce operational risk

About You

It is expected that you will likely have a minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a macro trading environment with an excellent track record of success with the appropriate risk reward framework and be balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face. You will be a passionate investor with strong aspirations to continue to learn and develop whilst providing a strong recommendation and conviction of trade ideas. In addition, you will be results oriented with excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of integrity and professional reputation. You will hold appropriate tertiary qualifications in economics, commerce, or finance with a CFA/Post-Graduate Degree highly regarded.

Our client, a global financial institution and top performing multi-strategy fund, is looking to add a talented and passionate Portfolio Manager to their investment team. Reporting to the Head of the Macro Strategy team, the successful candidate will support the team’s efforts in relation to managing the portfolio of discretionary macro positions, contributing to the ongoing implementation and future development of the macro research platform, and represent the team to key internal and external stakeholders.
