Portfolio Manager, Insurance Investment Management – Chubb Asset Management

About the Opportunity

The firm is seeking a Manager to join its Investment Management team in HK. The role involves overseeing local currency fixed income portfolios for P&C and Life insurance entities. The candidate should have a strong understanding of local currency fixed income markets especially in South-East Asia, ideally as a portfolio manager. The successful candidate will also work with the team to support the development and growth of Investment Linked Policies across the region.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the oversight of Asian investment portfolios for Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life insurance assets, ensuring alignment with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk analysis, conduct regular reviews, and prepare presentations on Asia portfolios for Group and Local senior managements in committee meetings.
• Conduct macroeconomic and fundamental research on Asian economies and fixed income markets.
• Liaise with local investment/finance teams and asset managers to ensure effective portfolio management and deal with requests on Asia P&C investment portfolios from internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and implementation of local currency fixed income portfolios.
• Support Investment Linked Policies (ILP) and other general account investments for Life insurance assets.
• Ensure compliance with internal investment policies, accounting and regulatory requirements.

About You

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field; advanced degree or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in investment management.
• Strong understanding of fixed income asset classes and investment strategies, preferably with experience in managing portfolios.
• Knowledge on Southeast Asia fixed income is an advantage.
• Experience with Southeast Asia P&C and Life insurance investment and regulatory frameworks are an advantage.
• Knowledge of ILP markets and mutual funds across asset classes.
• Experience of using Blackrock Aladdin system is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
