Are you a senior investment professional with deep quantitative expertise and a passion for credit markets? A leading asset management firm is seeking a Manager: Listed Credit to play a pivotal role in shaping and growing its listed credit capability. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of strategy, portfolio construction, and risk management within a high-performance investment environment — with a clear pathway into functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement quantitative investment strategies for listed credit portfolios
• Lead portfolio construction, optimisation, and risk management processes
• Develop and refine factor models, statistical tools, and credit selection frameworks
• Analyse issuer, structural, and market risks across fixed income instruments
• Collaborate with fundamental analysts, traders, and risk teams to integrate insights
• Contribute to investment committee discussions and research thought leadership
• Mentor junior team members and support the growth of the listed credit platform
• Engage with clients and contribute to investment presentations where required
• Cultivate and leverage banking and market relationships within the South African Debt Capital Markets

About You

Required Background:

• Strong quantitative degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or similar
• Proven experience within asset management, with exposure to listed credit, fixed income, or quantitative credit strategies
• Demonstrated application of statistical and quantitative techniques to real-world investment challenges
• Solid understanding of portfolio theory, credit instruments, and risk modelling
• Coding capability in Python, R, MATLAB, SQL or similar advantageous
• Ability to operate at both a technical execution level and a strategic leadership level
